At the Blues Basketball Club, we have always believed that our greatest strength lies in our diversity. On Thursday, 12th March 2026, we had the distinct honor of gathering our athletes, coaches, and families for a special Iftar Celebration to break the fast together during the holy month of Ramadan. The evening was a beautiful reminder that while we may compete as individuals or teams on the court, we are, first and foremost, one family.
Beyond the Sport: Athletes from our basketball, karate, and judo programmes sat side-by-side, proving that our strongest bonds are formed off the court.

A Night of Reflection and Connection
The event brought together members of our basketball, and now growing martial arts communities, to share a meal and reflect on the values of discipline, sacrifice, and empathy—values that are as central to sportsmanship as they are to this spiritual season.

Key Highlights of the Evening:

  • A Shared Table: It was heartening to see players from all backgrounds sitting side-by-side, sharing traditional dates and a meal as the sun set.
  • Community Bonds: Parents and coaches took the opportunity to connect outside the high-pressure environment of match days, strengthening the support network that makes our club possible.
  • Spirit of Giving: In the spirit of the season, the evening focused on gratitude for our collective successes over the past year and our excitement for the future of the Blues family.

Strengthening Our Foundation
Events like these are vital to the “Blues” identity. We recognise that to build great athletes, we must first foster a great community. Seeing our senior players mentoring the younger ones during the meal was a testament to the culture of respect we strive to cultivate every day.

“Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success.”

Thank You to Our Community!
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to making this evening a success—from those who organised the catering to the families who joined us with open hearts.

As we move forward into the rest of the 2026 season, we carry the spirit of this evening with us: Unity, Discipline, and Respect.
